1. Dr. Shukla has created a mathematical equation for insertion of life line catheter in sick infants in 1986. Currently 65% of all hospitals in USA use this formula while taking care of sick infants.

2. Dr. Shukla is the first US Physician to use Surfactant in Premature babies in the City of New York in 1985. Currently, the surfactant therapy is standard mode of therapy for preterm infants with premature lungs all over the world.
Dr. Shukla used surfactant in 1985 - as an investigational drug under NIH IND protocol. Currently, the surfactant therapy is the standard mode of therapy for preterm infants with premature lungs all over the world. Dr Shukla received a Citation from the Queens Borough President and United states Congress for his work.
3. Dr. Shukla has developed a formula for rapid estimation of insertional length of Endo-tracheal tubes in Infants. This formula is used all over USA for PAL training.

4. Jaundice in very hot topic in Neonatology. To investigate how Jaundice causes Kernicterus, Dr Shukla did basic research on rats in an animal laboratory at the New York University, School of Medicine. He is first physician to demonstrate blood brain barriers for Bilirubin.

5. Estimation of gestational age of preterm infant. This publication changed the criteria for estimation gestational age of preterm infants in the field of Pediatrics.
